|Recommended: YesGood for a First Apartment - LOVE the Kitchen — Pros MASSIVE Kitchen - this is honestly what sold me as soon as I walked in. No joke. If you like to cook, you will want one of these units. It may not be Emeril greatness, but for a newlyweds first apartment space that love to cook, this is perfect. There's so much space and cabinets, which is perfect for storing oddities that you may not want to display. Gates - They have gates posted at each entrance on either side of the building, so unless you have a fob you won't be getting in. Maintenance Quick Responses - we haven't had to submit too many work orders, but the few we have were always fixed relatively quickly, and the team is pretty nice. The one gentleman that fixed our locks showed me a trick to help it from getting stuck again so we wouldn't have to worry about being locked out after hours. Parking - This is a pro con depending on which building you live. If you're lucky to get one on the Hampton side, there are two small lots and some garages for rent so if you don't stay out late you shouldn't have a problem finding a space most of the time. If you need to park in the garage, then it may be a bit of a hassle, especially on weekends. There are a lot of events that go down at either the ampitheatre or the library or the civic center, plus there's the Rec Center people, so expect more some traffic and no spaces. However, there is a designated space on the 4th floor for residents' only so if you can get in there it won't be as bad. But usually it's in the summer that there will be more traffic as they seem to host twice as many events in the summer than the winter. Laundry Closet in Bathroom - this may sound strange, but I LOVE having the laundry closet in the bathroom. We have seen other apartments that put it in the middle of the kitchen area or even outside, and that's too weird for me... The bathroom is pretty big too space wise so that's a plus. Grounds - they do a pretty good job of cleaning up the areas, especially the common areas. You may see some bugs or trash laying around by the stairwells or outside halls, but they seem to do the best they can. And if it really bugs you, you can bring it to management's attention. Cons Parking - like I said, if you need to use the garage on a weekend, best to either wait til late or go early. Otherwise, good luck. Noisy Neighbors - I think we just happened to get the bad banana in the bunch, but let's be honest. Unless you are in a one story building or on the top level, there's always a chance you'll have a noisy neighbor. But that's part of the apartment stories and lifestyle, right My husband and I moved in right after we got married almost a year ago, and honestly, I would recommend this as a good first apartment. The rent isn't too bad, the amenities are nice, and the layout is clean and homey. It may be a little small for pets, depending on what kind you have, and what unit you choose, but for the two of us it works out really well. I'm glad we found it.
|Recommended: NoSecurity — I would tell them that the staff is very professional and helpful However the overall property needs improvement such as property Security. There is a lot of hanging out by individuals that don't live on the property and it gets quite scary at night having to encounter this.

|Recommended: YesThe property is ok, meets my expectations - noise level about the same at any apartment — parking is horrible, I stay on the first level, but other than that I like where I live, I love the amentities.
Hi Jasa! We appreciate your honest feedback and love that you enjoy living here overall. As you know, we share our lower level parking area with the City of DeSoto's Recreational Center, Public Library, and various other city buildings. We love the convenience of being attached to so many amenities but we realize that during peak times when they are hosting events or classes, our shared parking can get a little tight. As a way to help our residents find convenient parking, we offer exclusive resident only parking starting on the third level behind our resident private access gates which offers various spaces so that our residents can park without sharing space with the public. From the upper levels, residents can use our convenient elevator to whichever floor they need without having to bother with stairs or city parking traffic. We'd love to chat with you more about your living experience here at DTC so feel free to call or visit us here in the office. Cheers! - Ari Beck, DeSoto Town Center

|Recommended: YesDiligent, patient, and understanding staff — I have never lived in anything other than a single standing home and although I was very concerned about moving into Desoto Town Center, I must say that the first 6-months here has totally eliminated my fears. Now, I would prefer to never move into a single standing home again.
